The client brief was to create a garden that would entice the owners' children to spend more time in the garden, refer to the semi-industrial design of the home and be dog resistant. The existing garden was equally divided in into a large decked al fresco area and a lawn with a built in seat. The new garden is laid at 45 degrees to the decking so that the new water feature can be viewed from inside the house as well as from the deck and is linked to the deck by a raised timber walkway. A steel frame was constructed for a hanging egg chair but the children opted to use it for their circus silk which they use in lots of different ways. The owners commissioned the art work for the fence and have installed scultptures purchased on their travels. The garden is now used by the family everyday.
